Countries around the world basically name cookies “little cakes”. The American cookie has many foreign cousins ranging from hard biscuit-like treats to fat fluffy pastries. Very few (if any) pieces of culinary majesty are held in such high regards to warrant its own monster. I’ll save some time and just say that cookies are great and if you don’t like cookies, then you are wrong.
So, Wrongly McWronglersonsenson, what is your apprehension with the cookie?
Might it be a jealous fanaticism that stems from a traumatic experience from your childhood? Or possibly, the fact that once you started down this path of wrongliness, nothing else felt right so you just continued on your gleeful way? Maybe singing a jaunty dirge in the wrong key with the wrong words?
Unless it’s for medical reasons. You get a pass. Sorry for the medical condition which has put you in the very unfortunate situation.
But for you Mr./Mrs. Wrongersonsenson! Surely there is a cookie out there that fits your fancy? Let me be the first to stand up to your stubborn ways and encourage you to step out of your comfort zone. Try a bite of a cookie. Take a bit and your transformation to the dark side will be complete . . . no wait. Sorry. Wrong thing. I was thinking of something else.
Take a bite and you will see as Sam I Am once said. If the stickler in that book can try something new, maybe you could find it in your heart to give a cookie a chance.
And since you are in the testing mood, might I suggest a recipe that I found while perusing the offerings on the Pinterest. Cranberry White Chip Cookies.
I’ll let you watch the video to find out how these cookies fare in the wide world of cookiedom. But enjoy as I take you through my very sophisticated process of research, baking, and tasting a recipe. I might not always say the right things and the recipe might not always turn out how one would think. But the important thing is that we try new things.
Let me leave you with this final think:
Someone in history had to be the first person to discover that you could eat chicken eggs and drink cow’s milk.
