When I think about Christmas, I think about family. I think about an annual engagement commemorated with festive meals and brightly colored presents. Oh, yeah, I also try to fit a little Jesus into the special times as well.
Sorry to get all serious on ya, there. Frick and frack people, His name is in the holiday, right?
That should do with the quasi-religious talk. I didn’t come here to spread that message. Rather, I got all dressed up in my athletic shorts, black socks, sandals, & a shirt that barely covers my belly-button to wax poetic regarding a more recent tradition at Christmas . . .
The Christmas movie!
Some people have made a tradition of gathering the family around to watch their classic selection of which there are many. Others elect to cozy up with their sweet love and indulge in an emotional story that warms the heart. Or maybe your life choices have left you with little more than two under-cooked Hungry Man turkey dinners (who are they kidding, just one of those things could nary stifle the hanger pains of a malnourished swamp mouse) with a side of denial and a thick slice of narcissim for desert. All eaten from an aluminum Happy Days branded TV tray in front of a 80″ Plasma sprinkled with Xbox games and Coke Zero cans fighting for space on your Furinno 11191BK TV stand.
However you take your Christmas movie, we all have our favorites. Perhaps they fight for the top spots each year. Don’t we all enjoy it when a new offering is made by the Hollywood machine? Oh, how we anticipate the addition to our Christmas movie list.
At any rate, the tradition of enjoying a Christmas favorite has become a part of the ‘Merican Christmas experience, so I thought I’d share my top 5 picks for Christmas movies.
Not only will I list them out so you can compare to your own list, but I made a video that provides some short clips from my list as well as a nice little bit of puppetry magic in the end. But I won’t ruin the surprise with details. Enjoy my Christmas presentation!
